If you've been reading all about the Mobile Me rollout with scorn for its Apple-ness, Microsoft just opened up more preview slots for its Live Mesh service that similarly syncs files and info across all of your devices in the cloud (including Macs—later). While the service can be a bit hard to parse at times, its breadth of device coverage and open API look promising. Jump in with your Windows Live account now before spots run out.

Just got it installed - LOOKS really neat. As soon as I add my two other PC's and my laptop, I'll report back. Cell phone will be next when they release that part of the software. So far so good.

Tell ya what, SD - it is pretty cool but it won't be for everyone for sure. The whole idea of it is to virtually make all of your "stuff" available to you where ever you are as long as you have access to www. I'm just doing it as a learning experience but when they say ya gotta start payin' I'll have to make a decision. They're actually still building it so it'll be a fun journey, I think, particularly when they add the cell phone access. IMHO

You're right about what GOOGLE has had but it isn't even close to Live Mesh. Live Mesh virtually connects all of your DEVICES together and you can access whatever device you wish from what other device you are using AND operate it remotely. Gmail drive is just a byte bucket - M$ has had that for years.
